Podcast RSS Feeds: What are they and How to Get them?

Life on Earth changed in just about every way in 2020.

The pandemic made us do things we probably won’t have done otherwise.

From making Dalgona Coffee to creating TikTok videos, we discovered so many ways to spend our time, without leaving our houses.

There’s one more thing that helped us in staying busy, engaged, connected, and entertained throughout the lockdown – podcasts.

Honestly, podcasts transformed the strenuous lockdown into a more bearable experience.

They gave us good company while we all were in self-isolation.

They lifted us out of our surroundings and added soundtracks to our new routines.

Let’s cut to the chase – podcasts are AWESOME.

Not just when we’re cooped up inside our house, but podcasts always give us some much-needed relief from the problems of life.

They always bring moments of joy to otherwise mundane things. (Household chores, for example!)

Did you know that there are 850,000 active podcasts and over 30 million podcast episodes?

Whether someone likes conspiracy theories or political scandals, there’s a podcast out there for everyone.

But with so many podcasts around – how would you stay up to date with all your favorite ones?

How would you stay on top of all the emerging podcasting trends?

How would you streamline your entire listening experience?

The answer is simple – using an RSS reader.

In this post, we’re going to tell you everything that you need to know about RSS readers, podcast RSS feeds, and the most amazing RSS reader out there.

Ready? Let’s go!

First off, What are Podcast RSS Feeds?

An RSS feed is an online directory or file that has details about all the content a site posts.

Every time a website publishes something new, details about it are generated in the file automatically.

Let’s say you check out multiple podcast websites every day.

Normally, you’d go to each of these websites individually to listen to the podcasts they’ve posted, right?

RSS feeds make it much easier for you.

Instead of visiting those websites every day, you can simply subscribe to the RSS feed from their website and be notified whenever they post a new podcast.

If you’re well versed with coding, you might be able to make sense of ‘RSS’ easily.

But for the rest of us, RSS looks like a lot of technical mumbo jumbo.

…and this is why you need an RSS reader.

Umm…RSS Reader? What’s That?

When you want to follow specific podcasts, blogs, or websites—to see every piece of content they publish, RSS readers have got you covered.

ALL RSS readers work within the same framework.

They access web feeds published by websites, letting you aggregate content that you are interested in.

In simple words, you tell an RSS reader what RSS feeds you want to follow, and it will collect and display every new content those sites churn out.

So, instead of visiting multiple sites every day, you can just open your favorite RSS reader to see all new content in one place.

RSS readers are one of the best ways to make sure you stay on top of everything your favorite sites publish and ensure that you never miss out on anything.

Don’t worry – finding the right RSS reader for podcasts doesn’t need to be a source of pain because we’ve done that for you.
